There is no formal “sign-up” for classes. We ask that you show up a few minutes early to the class where you are interested in participating to enable us to get contact information from you. If you’re new to our class concepts, we encourage you to try as many as you can to judge what will work best for you!

Grab a lane with us on Mondays at Sunnyside Bowladrome! Bowling is a great way to stay active and keep your mind sharp – all while having fun with friends.

A series of seated and standing movement exercises, sometimes using props such as balls, towels and balance pads to promote strength, flexibility and balance. Participants are given tools through rhythm, dance and movement sequences that help improve agility and mobility issues associated with Parkinson’s. Movement games, vocal and facial exercises and a variety of music add to the fun.

Classes are planned to help improve mobility, stability, strength, endurance, cognition, and flexibility. A combination of seated and standing stretching and strengthening exercises using weights, balance pads, resistance bands, etc. are incorporated. Team and individual exercises and activities are adjusted to each individual’s level of fitness and ability.

1:00 – 2:00 PM – Yoga for Strength, Flexibility & Balance – Heather Tharpe, instructor
Practice basic yoga postures, form, and breath work for building physical strength, flexibility, and balance. Comfort and safety are ensured through the use of chairs, the wall, and other equipment to accommodate individual abilities affected by Parkinson’s, Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Post-rehab conditioning, or other functional instability. Class practice is closed with a restorative moment, paired with mindful breathing.
