There is no formal “sign-up” for classes. We ask that you show up a few minutes early to the class where you are interested in participating.
If you’re new to our classes, we encourage you to try as many as you can!

A series of seated and standing movement exercises, sometimes using props such as balls, towels and balance pads to promote strength, flexibility and balance. Participants are given tools through rhythm, dance and movement sequences that help improve agility and mobility issues associated with Parkinson’s. Movement games, vocal and facial exercises and a variety of music add to the fun.

WEDNESDAYS

10:30 – 11:30 AM – Strength, Balance and Motion – Linda Hall, instructor
A combination of seated and standing stretching and strengthening exercises using weights, balance pads, resistance bands and the agility ladder. Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves through fun obstacle courses, ball-throwing, boxing footwork and rhythmic walking to a variety of music. Brain teasers, memory and movement exercises, and facial/vocal exercises round out this class.

Practice basic postures, form, and breath work for building physical strength, flexibility, and balance. Comfort and safety are ensured through the use of chairs, the wall, and other equipment to accommodate individual abilities affected by Parkinson’s, Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Post-rehab conditioning, or other functional instability. Class practice is closed with a restorative moment, paired with mindful breathing.

Classes are planned to help improve mobility, stability, strength, endurance, cognition, and flexibility. Team and individual exercises and activities are adjusted to each individual’s level of fitness and ability.

Boxing instruction and full-body conditioning enable participants to simultaneously work on gross motor movement, rhythm, core strength, balance, and hand-eye coordination.
